A responsible group

Grosfillex has always adopted an eco-responsible approach and has used its pioneering spirit to further sustainable development in terms of raw materials and transformation processes.

In terms of materials, cadmium was removed as early as 1996 and lead was replaced with calcium zinc in 2003, a move that was approved by the French national organisation CSTB the same year.

Today, all the raw materials we use comply with the European Reach regulation requirements that guarantee that the products present no risk for users and are 100% recyclable.

As a leader turned toward the future, Grosfillex is at the head of the research group SYRIMAP (eco-compatible fire-proofing), a subsidised programme with a total investment of 4 million Euros. It also contributes to the Vinyl Plus program that aims to achieve 800,000 tons of PVC recycled in 2020.

In terms of processes, the group joined ADEME’s ‘Bilan Carbone’ scheme in 2008 and has implemented an action plan aimed at reducing its GEGs emissions by 34% (renovation of roofs, variable output hydraulic presses …).

Grosfillex does not use any water thanks to an efficient closed-circuit cooling system (1000m3/hr) and does not generate any production waste thanks to its granulation process and recycling (4200 tons/year).

Thanks to investments in refrigeration units, the company is able to transfer 6000kW of calories produced by the manufacturing process to heat the industrial premises, thereby optimizing energy costs.

Other schemes such as carpooling for employees, or the creation of satellite storehouses in countries we supply on a regular basis also contribute to reduce our carbon footprint.
