In some cases, an additional clause and therefore an amendment to your home insurance policy may be necessary.
We therefore recommend that you contact your insurance company if you want to protect yourself from any unpleasant surprises in the event of theft or damage.
 
What is an outbuilding?

A garden shed can be considered an outbuilding of your home.
An outbuilding is an external building located within a certain radius of the main dwelling. If the garden shed is located at a certain distance from the house, without being integrated into it, it will be considered an outbuilding. However, each insurer will have its own criteria, so it is important to check.
Insurance is therefore not compulsory, but it provides cover in the event of theft or damage.
 
Steps to follow

Each insurer has its own services and criteria regarding shed insurance. It is best to inform your insurer when installing a shed, who will advise you on the best course of action.

The insurer will be able to offer you different solutions based on the available policies.

To install a garden shed correctly and ensure that it is perfectly level for the stability of the entire structure, it is essential to have a perfectly flat and stable ground surface. Under no circumstances should the shed be installed directly on soil or grass.
Recommended type of support depending on the surface area of the shed:
Sheds up to 4.9 m²: they can be assembled and fixed on gravel slabs or concrete corner blocks.
Sheds larger than 4.9 m²: we strongly recommend laying a concrete slab (foundation) on which the shed should be installed and fixed.

Concrete slab specifications:
Recommended thickness: 10 cm minimum
Slab overhang: 3 to 5 cm all around the shelter

Regardless of the size of the shelter, we recommend reinforcing its attachment to the ground using the Grosfillex anchoring kit to ensure optimal stability, especially in windy conditions.

This product consists of 6 PVC profiles, each 56 cm long, which can be cut to size.

Yes. Grosfillex PVC garden sheds are designed for year-round outdoor use and to withstand normal winter weather conditions, including sub-zero temperatures.
The materials used retain their mechanical properties in cold weather. When used normally as garden sheds, they provide effective protection for the equipment and materials stored inside.
In accordance with quality and safety requirements, our sheds have been subjected to resistance tests in harsh weather conditions. For example, a shed panel successfully withstood an impact test (fall of a weight greater than 200 g) carried out at -10°C without breaking, demonstrating the robustness of the PVC used.
With regard to snow, the shelters are designed to withstand snow loads corresponding to normal weather conditions. However, in accordance with usage and safety recommendations, it is essential to:

install the shelter on a suitable support (concrete slab or foundation recommended depending on the surface),

secure the shelter to the ground using a suitable anchoring system,

regularly remove snow that has accumulated on the roof in the event of heavy or prolonged snowfall, in order to avoid any overload.

Failure to comply with these recommendations may result in damage to the product and may render the user liable. For optimal use, it is advisable to refer to the assembly and installation instructions provided with the shelter.

Reasons for condensation
Condensation is caused by temperature differences between the outside climate and the inside of the garden shed, and is a consequence of the excellent insulation properties of PVC, which can cause condensation in certain climates.
What can I do to remedy this?
Increase ventilation by adding a ventilation grille to the upper exterior part of the shed.
We recommend adding low-level ventilation to your garden shed.
Finally, it is necessary to check that the structure is properly sealed to see if this is the cause of the condensation on the windows.
Installing an additional ventilation grille in a Grosfillex shed
Grosfillex sheds come with four ventilation grilles as standard. Adding one or two additional grilles improves air circulation and, as a result, significantly reduces the amount of humidity that can build up in your garden shed.

Please note that the Grosfillex warranty does not cover damage caused by exceptional weather conditions such as storms, hurricanes, lightning, floods, and hail. Regardless of the damage, whether all or part of the roof is damaged, you should contact your insurance company to claim on your home insurance. 
The steps to follow are as follows:
Report the claim to your home insurance company so that an expert can assess the damage.
Provide your insurance company with the original purchase price of the garden shed.
Check whether the "new replacement" option is selected in your insurance contract. It will then take 5 weeks for a new replacement for your garden shed or 12 weeks for replacement parts for your garden shed. For all after-sales service requests, please provide us with the garden shed reference number indicated on your invoice and the references of the damaged parts specified in your assembly instructions.

Our advice for improving the waterproofing of your shed:
Check that the slats are properly fitted.
Check that the concrete slab is the right size.
Reinforce the waterproofing with a silicone seal.
Add low vents to your shed.
The concrete slab must be adapted to the overall exterior surface area according to the model of garden shed you choose.

The concrete slab must be the perfect size for the garden shed: not too small and not too big. If the slab is too big, it can create waterproofing problems because it will act as insulation to prevent moisture.
To prepare your shed for moisture, you need to leave a margin of 5 to 10 cm in length and width. This slab must correspond to the external dimensions of your shed structure.
If the slab is too large, there may be a risk of fungus and moss growth due to water stagnation. 
Silicone
Silicone will allow you to create joints around the outside of the shelter for a smooth and even result.
We therefore recommend that you create a waterproof joint as described in the assembly instructions.

You must have the products available in their original packaging. Grosfillex will refund

This is a smart solution for separating two rooms. A double door can be adjusted in height, and we recommend cutting it with a tool such as a hand saw.
Two doors can be assembled by attaching the receiving rail to one of the doors as well as to the bottom. To help you with the assembly, you will find assembly instructions on our website.

Installation steps
Take measurements

Measure the opening precisely by noting the width and height of the existing frame in order to ensure a perfect fit for the door and its tracks.

Cut the top rail

Using a saw, cut the top rail to the desired length based on the measurements you have taken.

Assemble the slats

Assemble the slats by sliding them into each other, making sure to correctly integrate the rail on the hinge side.

Install the top rail

Unclip the two-part rail. Slide the U-shaped part onto the top of the partition to prepare for fixing.

Fix the clips on the hinge side

Position the clips on the wall stud wall hinge wall and fix them securely with screws.

Attach the rails

Screw the receiving rail on the closing side, then attach the second part of the upper rail that you cut out earlier.

Put the door in place

Position the pre-assembled door, then clip it onto the top rail and the hinge-side rail.

Install the handle

How wide is a folding door?
Grosfillex folding doors have a maximum standard width of 84 cm, which corresponds to the total width of the frame, including the rails.

If the width of your opening is less than 84 cm, the door will simply fold more like an accordion and therefore be slightly less taut, which compensates for the missing centimeters without affecting its operation.

There are several options available to you for installing your PVC wall panels or tiles.

On old tiles, you have two choices:
You can glue your paneling using our GX Power glue or our strong adhesives. For glue, apply zigzag lines from top to bottom of yourwall cladding , use a level to position your tile or panel correctly, then press down firmly on the entire surface. The glue does not adhere immediately, so you can make any necessary adjustments.

For adhesive installation, apply adhesive every 20 cm around the edge of your tile or panel. Then randomly distribute a few adhesives over the entire surface of your substrate. Once you have applied your paneling, press down firmly over the entire surface. Please note that once you have done this, you will not be able to remove it to readjust its position.

You can also fix your paneling by screwing it into the profile of the strip designed for this purpose.

On plasterboard:
You can use the first two types of application.
Installation by stapling: the profile of our panels or tiles allows them to be stapled directly onto your plasterboard. Simply slot the next strip into place for a perfect connection. 
On battens: 
Installation on battens is used when your wall damaged with more than 3 mm of unevenness or when you want to leave a space for natural ventilation in case of moisture. Only stapling is recommended in this case.
Ceiling installation: 
Ceiling installation can be done using metal brackets. These allow you to leave a space between your ceiling and your paneling. This space allows cables to be discreetly passed through for the insertion of spotlights.
Another solution is also possible, which is to staple or screw directly.
Installation on battens by stapling or screwing is also possible.
