The jewel in the crown of Plastic Valley

An international family-owned group, Grosfillex has been based in Arbent/Oyonnax in the heart of Haut-Bugey, in the Rhône-Alpes region, for 95 years.

From the tradition of wood to plastic innovation

Originally a woodturning business, it was clothes pegs, egg cups, and tool handles that made the company famous between the two world wars.

Raymond Grosfillex, the man behind the transformation

It was under the leadership of Raymond Grosfillex that the company made a decisive shift: moving from wood to resin.

A visionary, he quickly recognized the tremendous opportunities offered by this innovative material, which was durable, technical, and accessible. He led the modernization of the industrial tool and developed the first injection-molded products, laying the foundations for Grosfillex's reputation in the decades to come. Thanks to his pioneering spirit, the company took a leap forward and ushered in a new era: that of functional and sustainable design for the home.

This development in the 1950s led Grosfillex to gradually revolutionize interior and then exterior design.

The first products in the collection will be for healthcare, followed by bathrooms.

In the 1980s, Grosfillex expanded its product range with the launch of PVC exterior joinery. This development marked a new stage in the mastery of synthetic materials, improving thermal performance and durability.

An icon Made in Oyonnax:

In 1981, the company launched its famous, iconic monobloc chair, which is sturdy, stackable, and durable—a striking example of its expertise in plastics and design!

This key milestone gave a decisive boost to Grosfillex's industrial development. Practical, robust, and attractive, it has become a symbol of accessible and functional design, found all over the world.

Building on this success, the company is diversifying its activities and markets.

Controlled growth and local roots

While consolidating its industrial expertise, Grosfillex remains true to its roots. The group is developing new production sites in France and abroad, while keeping its headquarters and core production facilities in Arbent, in the Ain department. This strong local presence is accompanied by international reach: today, the company is present in more than 80 countries and generates nearly half of its revenue from exports.

An innovative and responsible brand

From the 2000s onwards, Grosfillex further accelerated its development with the introduction of new product ranges: garden sheds, technical wall coverings, designer furniture for hotels and restaurants, storage solutions, and connected joinery.

Committed to addressing environmental issues, the company also incorporates sustainability into its strategy. It develops eco-designed products, manufactures in France using recycled materials, and optimizes its processes to reduce its carbon footprint.
