How to install Grosfillex cladding ? (Step-by-step guide)
No need to be an expert: with a few simple steps, you'll achieve a clean and long-lasting result.
Step 1: Prepare your wall
A successful wall starts with a ready-to-use base:
- clean
- dry
- Irregular (up to 3 mm)
- defatted (important in cooking)
No need to completely dismantle your room: you can lay the tiles directly on top of old, well-fixed tiles.
Step 2: Choose the installation method
Depending on your surface, you can install:
✔️ By gluing
The most common method. Simply apply our specialized adhesive to the back of each tile or slab.
✔️ By adhesive bonding
A simple system that requires applying our ultra-strong adhesives according to the instructions on the packaging. (Do not use on composite tile slabs).
✔️ By stapling (to battens or drywall)
Perfect for compensating for uneven or damaged walls and for installing battens to allow air to circulate behind the panels. (Not compatible with Gx Wall+ tiles or the Element Compact Premium ranges).
Step 3: Cut the PVC panels or composite tiles
Good news: Grosfillex products are easy to cut! All you needis a utility knife or jigsaw. No complicated tools required.
Step 4: Lay the first board or tile (the largest one)
Always start with a perfectly vertical/horizontal angle or edge. Remember to use a level to ensure you start off straight. To start and finish your wall neatly, use our finishing profiles, which can also be installed by gluing, stapling, or screwing, depending on your substrate, for a perfect finish.
Once this first board is in place, everything else will fall into place naturally.
Step 5: Fit the parts together
Whether you glue, staple, or screw, the principle remains the same:

Position the first blade/slab.

Check the alignment with a level.

Continue the row vertically and, for composite tiles, you can position them in a staggered pattern on the second row, using the offcuts.
