Mathilde and Yvan live in Cavalaire. In their house, the mezzanine has always served as a small living room. Well, that was before! As parents of two boys, they have had to give up their TV/library corner in recent years...
Goodbye sofa, hello foosball table! To get back on track, they came up with an idea: move the playroom outside, into a garden shed. The children could invite their friends over and play quietly while mom and dad enjoyed some peace and quiet...
Choosing the shed
After doing some research online, Mathilde and Yvan decide to go for a 7.5m² shelter, which is a good size for providing a pleasant space for the children. What are they looking for? Something comfortable that will stand the test of time.
For Mathilde, it was also important that the shelter "blend in" with nature to complement their country garden. They therefore chose a resin model with a natural oak finish. It has the aesthetic appeal, charm, and warmth of wood, without requiring any specific maintenance. Windows to let in light, a lock on the door to keep the children's belongings safe... It's perfect, it has everything!
Delivery and installation of the shelter
It's D-day, the delivery man arrives with the shelter. Mathilde and Yvan grab it and carry it to the bottom of the garden, onto the concrete slab they had to have laid (it was a requirement of the model they chose!). All that's left to do is get to work, and luckily, there's no rain in the forecast. First step: lay the rails on the ground.
Armed with a drill, a screwdriver, masks, and gloves, the two friends are doing rather well. Now they need to put up the walls; the panels fit together easily. Finally, they just need to position the roof elements. After a good day's work, the shelter seems to have sprung up in the middle of the garden!
Shelter layout
It's time to finish the playroom, and today everyone is rolling up their sleeves! The boys, armed with their wallpaper paste, are plastering the walls with posters: Raoul ÇaRoule, Spider-Man...
Everyone is here! Mathilde and Yvan are putting up shelves everywhere to store the TV, game console, children's games, etc. They have opted for shelves that can be adjusted in width and height and attached to each other; an ideal system as Christmas approaches, as it allows for easy storage!
At the back of the room, beanbags and a fantastic Cars sofa have been set up. All that's missing now is the holy grail: the foosball table. The children and their father go to look for it in the house. And there you have it! A great team effort that deserves a quick game, don't you think?
